Here at Reading Retrievers, we believe in quality, not quantity. This being said, we usually only have one to two litters of puppies a year and our litters are almost always reserved before they are whelped. We do keep an ongoing waiting list so if you are interested in the possibility of owning a Reading Retrievers' puppy, please contact us with your name and contact information and we would be more than happy to add you to our waiting list.
Our puppies are raised in our home from birth, and are well socialized to everyday living. While in our care, they are exposed to other dogs, horses, cats, children, indoor and outdoor living, crates for crate training, routine grooming procedures, riding in the car, water, and visits with the Veterinarian. They are also temperament tested to ensure the proper Golden Retriever character, and to help assist you and your family in your picking process in order to find that perfect fit of pup with owner.
All of our puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration and spay/neuter agreements for $1000.00. We also offer a 72 hour health guarantee. We begin accepting non-refundable deposits once the puppies are whelped and we have received and approved your puppy application. We allow our puppies' new families to visit once the puppies are six weeks old and have received their initial inoculations. We do not allow our puppies to go to their new homes until they are eight weeks of age, and we do not ever ship our puppies due to shipping costs, unknown conditions in which the puppy will be kept, and the amount of stress the puppy endures while flying and being in an unfamiliar environment.
When you purchase a puppy from Reading Retrievers, you are also getting a lifetime of support, advice, recommendations, reminders, and friendships. We are always available to answer any questions that you may have, share in any concerns you may encounter, celebrate in your awards, accomplishments, and achievements, and grieve when the time comes to say goodbye. We also offer a lifetime return of your new puppy as we understand that there are things that are sometimes thrown at us that we cannot control that require us to find our four-legged family members new homes. Some other extras you will receive with your new puppy are his AKC registration papers, vaccination and medical records, various handouts with recommendations, training tips and guidelines, and a vaccination schedule to continue with, a toy, sample bag of Diamond puppy food to either continue feeding or to be used while transitioning your puppy to an alternative food choice.
Puppies' Veterinary Care
3-5 days old - Puppies are thoroughly examined, weighed, and have their dewclaws removed by the Veterinarian.
2 weeks old - Puppies are weighed and dewormed.
4 weeks old - Puppies are weighed and dewormed.
6 weeks old - Puppies are thoroughly examined, weighed, dewormed, and receive their first inoculations by the Veterinarian.
8 weeks old - Puppies are weighed, dewormed, and receive a dose of flea and tick preventative.

This adoption application, contract, and agreement is applicable for both the adoption of a puppy or an adult dog from Reading Retrievers.
